We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Renewable Project Developer and ESG representative, focusing on Southeast Asia.
Job Description Project Development: Lead the project development efforts for renewable energy projects from conception to operation, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals. Conduct comprehensive market analysis across the region to identify and assess regulatory frameworks, policies, and incentives. Collaborate with finance and investment teams to conduct financial modeling, feasibility studies, assess risks, and develop business models. Develop and oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery while adhering to quality and safety standards. ESG Management: Lead the environmental and social (including health and safety) management function for Pacific Impact Development's projects across Southeast Asia Implement Pacific Impact Development's E&S Policy and develop the environmental and social management system (ESMS) for deployment on projects. Incorporate ESG considerations on all projects throughout the project lifecycle, including site selection, design, community engagement, construction and operations. Undertake E&S regulatory research to map out regulatory requirements and permitting processes in various jurisdictions. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, government agencies, local communities, NGOs, and industry partners. Manage and assist external advisors in the development of project local and bankable Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA). Organise and maintain a project permit list and permit renewal schedule. Manage the local EIA and bankable international ESIA process for projects in collaboration with external advisors. Coordinate the completion of periodic E&S and H&S reports for regulatory compliance and investor impact reporting. Travel: Must be willing to travel within Southeast Asia to visit project sites, engage with stakeholders, attend meetings, and represent the company. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on ESG considerations.
3.Candidates with a pollution control officer (PCO) and occupational health and safety (BOSH/COSH) training will be strongly considered.
4. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and market dynamics in the Philippines and willingness to learn the process in other Southeast Asia countries.
5. Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments, including community and stakeholder engagement.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and navigate challenging environments.
7. Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages spoken in Southeast Asian countries is a plus.
