The Landscape Architect carries out landscape design and production work for landscape projects such as open space, parks, walkways, schools, playgrounds, sports complexes, holiday resorts, roads, external areas of buildings of all types, land subdivisions, commercial, industrial and residential sites, as part of urban and civil projects and master projects. The entry level Landscape Architect plays an important role in the design team, carrying out the bulk of the project design and production works under the guidance of a 'Project Leader' and other senior staff.
The landscape architect works as part of a multi-disciplinary project team coordinating the internal design support and documentation works.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Carries out landscape planning, sketching, creative and conceptual design, schematic design and design development and production work for the allocated project(s) as per applicable standards and project brief under the direct supervision of senior staff.
• Develops the design and production materials under the direct supervision of senior staff.
• Develops detailed design works and production of, CAD plans, CAD details, working sketches, sketch-up modelling.
• Prepares design documentation packs for construction contract tendering, including detailed design drawings, documentation, technical specifications.
• Coordinates the internal design, engineering and documentation work and interacting with other disciplines, e.g. architects, graphic artists, designers, engineers, horticulturist, etc.
• Ability to apply professional knowledge to design landscape projects of varying level of complexity under the close supervision and direction of a project leader, developing the ability to work on multiple projects of increasing complexity, size & value.
• Ability to use professional knowledge combined with artistic and creative abilities to create functional, sustainable and manageable landscapes that are in line with company's creative direction and style and reflect the requirements and expectations of clients.
• Good understanding of other related design, engineering and construction disciplines including surveying techniques and computations; Developing ability to assist in reviewing project work performed by other engineers/disciplines including computations, quantities, costs, the accuracy of specifications, completeness, constructability.
• Developing technical communication & reporting skills including reading, writing and interpretation of technical documentation, specifications and reports, proposals, technical briefs, contracts and tender documents.
• Ability to work effectively as part a multi-disciplinary project team; own tasks and accept accountability for assigned works and deliverables; ability to use effective self-discipline, problem-solving and task prioritisation to manage timely execution of work, complete deliverable and meet deadlines, while developing project management skills.
• Strong hands-on Computer & IT skills including use of CAD, Revit and BIM, Adobe Creative Suite; Sketch-Up, MS Office and latest design tools and technologies.
• Good working knowledge of horticulture and environmental & life sciences, as well as materials, equipment and technologies relevant to landscape construction projects; staying abreast of latest related developments as they relate to landscape design projects.
• Ability to display client-focused approach in all works and project a quality-driven and highly client-focused outlook to promote company's professional image throughout the projects.

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelors' in landscape architecture / architecture
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION / CHARTERSHIP
N/A
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
• Min 5years of relevant work experience in an architecture/landscape architecture practice.
• Experience in using BIM related technologies (such as REVIT) in landscape architecture would be a significant advantage
OTHER
• Good level of verbal and written English.
