Overview of the Role
The Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A) Manager is primarily responsible for the management and review of financials and business drivers to ensure the achievement of the organization’s goals. These functions include annual P&L planning, forecasting of business drivers and P&L, analyzing actual financial performance, impact analysis of business initiatives, and delivering cost efficiency initiatives. The BP&A Manager is also responsible for setting up the strategy for SME segment for the bank.
Key Accountabilities
Strategy and Planning
Responsible for reviewing the balance sheet and P&L drivers for the bank
Responsible for P&L and balances sheet forecasting activities, including monthly outlook projections and the annual budgeting
Evaluate KPI’s and review overall performance against targets, ad recommend adjustment, as and when required
Work with business to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies to support the business growth as well as finalize the target setting for business initiatives
Identifies & drives business efficiency opportunities & cost reduction initiatives across the bank to ensure achievement of committed financial targets & sustainability for the bank
Responsible for the planning of SME strategy and also to execute and launch SME segments for the bank
Manages the performance of the Business Planning & Analysis team
Ensure Business Planning & Analysis team is adequately resourced, and develop and enhance competency of the team in performing their responsibilities
About You
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline (Accounting / Finance / Business / Economics / Financial Engineering / Applied Mathematics / Actuarial Science)
Relevant Work Experience
5 years of relevant experiencein the banking or financial services industry, with relevant experience in technical positions such as Finance, Risk, Analytics, or product management
Consumer banking experience is a plus
Technical/Functional Skills
Strong numeracy and good problem solving ability
Able to communicate financial performance and data in a business context and make information easily available to all
Understanding how information flows to recommend strategies on how to democratize and operationalize data
In-depth knowledge of banking products and services including its inherent risks
Excellent strategic business logic to influence strategy-based on data
Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint
