Drafter We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shopdrawings Drafter to join our team. As a Shopdrawings Drafter, you will be responsible for producing accurate and comprehensive technical drawings and plans for various construction projects. Your primary focus will be on creating shop drawings that effectively communicate design intent, specifications, and construction details to fabricators, contractors, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities: Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to create detailed shop drawings for construction projects. Specialize in the design and layout of elevator systems, considering factors such as building layout, traffic flow, and safety regulations. Take elevator drawings and transform them into shop drawings suitable for fabrication by the warehouse team. Coordinate with elevator manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors to integrate elevator designs into overall construction plans. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand design requirements and specifications. Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) to develop accurate and precise technical drawings. Incorporate necessary dimensions, materials, and annotations into drawings to ensure clarity and compliance with project standards. Review and revise drawings based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project timelines. Maintain organized documentation and file management systems for all drawings and related project files. Requirements: Proven experience working as a drafter or CAD technician, preferably in the construction industry. Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs. Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, including knowledge of construction materials and methods. Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and thorough technical drawings. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and software tools as needed. Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to drafting and construction. Problem-solving skills and the ability to propose practical solutions to design challenges. Experience with 3D modeling software and visualization tools is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a similar role within the construction industry. Certification or training in specific CAD software programs relevant to the job. Portfolio showcasing previous shop drawing projects and technical drafting skills. Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and workflows.
