Job Description
The Dean, Carter and Moyers School of Education, shall be the administrative head of the designated School and will be responsible for growth and development of School programs, positive leadership of faculty, and effective operations of all aspects within the School. The School Dean shall coordinate the work of the School and interpret such work to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and to the University at large, and interpret the plans and decisions of administration to School and University faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
EdD/PhD degree in appropriate discipline
teaching and leadership experience in higher education
experience and record of success in accreditation/compliance activities

Job Duties
promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;
promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students;
participate on University committees;
ensure School compliance with all accreditation requirements (SACSCOC, CAEP, CACREP) along with state regulations, and lead accreditation activities that result in positive outcomes;
schedule and conduct School meetings with established agendas;
direct department chairs, program directors, and faculty in the process of curriculum development;
present School curriculum proposal(s) to the University Academic Council for approval;
supervise the process of seeking, achieving and maintaining program accreditation when appropriate;
supervise the development, implementation, evaluation and preparation of annual reports of the Outcomes Assessment Plan for all academic programs in the School;
supervise the development, implementation, evaluation and preparation of annual reports of the Strategic Plan as related to each department and academic program within the School;
participate with department chairs, program directors, and faculty in the search process for selecting and approving full-time and adjunct faculty with appropriate credentials to teach in the academic programs, and forwarding a recommendation for employment to the Vice President for Academic Affairs;
lead orientation for new faculty and staff members;
supervise administrative work of the School;
direct department chairs, program directors, faculty and staff in the process of annual evaluations and conducting an evaluation session with each chair, program director, faculty, and staff member;
provide the Vice President for Academic Affairs an Activities Report for each department chair, program director, faculty and staff member, with written recommendations regarding renewal of appointment;
direct department chairs and program directors in developing course schedules;
monitor program enrollments, class sizes, and grade distributions;
ensure effective student advising;
direct department chairs and program directors in the process of developing annual budget proposals that adequately and appropriately reflect needs of academic programs;
coordinate with department chairs and program directors compliance with University policies for budget preparation and management;
prepare an annual budget proposal;
perform other duties as assigned;
complete required institutional, program accreditation and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites.
