About the role
This role is primarily responsible for providing specialized investigations support to BHP’s Global Central Investigations Team as part of the new Category A investigations function and framework. Reporting to the Manager – Investigations, the accountabilities of the role include:
Develop, maintain and implement core procedures and documentation in accordance with the newly created Investigations Framework.
Drive consistency, quality and efficiency through performance improvement initiatives across the end to end investigations process.
Identify key components of allegations made through EthicsPoint reports along with specific areas alleged to have been breached within Our Code of Conduct and other business requirement documents.
Prepare investigation plans based on information received through Ethics reporting platform (Navex) and by working with investigation leads.
Coordinate and perform initial forensic review of electronic communications and key system data and other documentation.
Collate data, maintain Investigations dashboard (TIBCO Spotfire) and prepare reports for senior management and other forums on investigations and the scope for improvements to the Investigations Framework.
Arrange interviews with witnesses, respondents and complainants, attend interviews with Principal and Specialist Investigations, conduct interviews as requested, transcribe interviews and prepare Investigation reports.This is for a 12 mos Fixed Term position
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Compliance or Audit with 5 years’ experience working in Legal, Compliance or Audit.
Experience reviewing complex legal, compliance or audit matters and identifying key issues and corresponding business requirements and compliance aspects.
Ability to communicate at different levels with simple, inclusive language and vocabulary to build a shared understanding with the team.
Experience with continuous improvement in risk controls, learning from internal and external incidents and best practices.
Experience handling and managing matters of a confidential nature.
Fluent English language skills, Spanish language skills would be an advantage.
Previous experience with SAP and Sharepoint highly desirable.
