About the Role:
First Circle is seeking a Senior UX Researcher/Strategist to join our growing team!
The individual we are looking for is a driven self-starter who is able to work both independently and within small teams. This individual will also have to be able to work across different teams and departments to accomplish objectives. As our company grows there are countless opportunities for vertical and horizontal mobility: within the same team, moving to or creating a new product function, or being part of the launch team in a new market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Help product teams and leadership determine the right research questions to ask, creating long-term research roadmaps and opportunity frameworks that align to and inform business strategy and goals.
Define and execute (and, as necessary, invent) research methods appropriate to the questions at hand, including but not limited to field research, surveys, lab studies, remote testing, and A-B tests.
Synthesise customer data from many sources to identify strategic opportunities and recommend innovative products and/or services.
Use primary and secondary data types to perform quick and thorough analyses leading to focused, insightful, and actionable findings.
Leverage behavioral insights to understand the psychology of First Circle's customers and why they are or aren't engaging in the desired behaviors.
Successfully persuade decision makers at all levels of the organization to take aligned action on research findings – inspire them and help them internalize opportunities to delight customers and differentiate our product offering.
Translate insights into measurable customer experience outcomes aligned to business goals.
Work independently with design, product management, engineering, and marketing, partners to develop innovative end-to-end solutions that address top outcomes, and iteratively design and test these solutions until outcomes are achieved or hypotheses are proven wrong.
Advance the development of sophisticated insight-based knowledge management frameworks used to drive organizational decision-making and prioritization of investments.
Generate insights and artefacts that influence and are adopted by other teams across First Circle
Skills and Experience:
You are passionate about using research to guide product development and decision making
You use design thinking (user-centred approach) to think through problems and engage with users with an empathetic mindset
You think visually, using techniques like storyboards and sketching, to communicate concepts and insights to team members
You have a proven track record delivering business value through the insights you deliver
You are passionate about evidence-based design and you’re not afraid to challenge stakeholders
You have experience using behavioral insights from psychology, behavioral science, sociology, ethnography, behavioral economics, etc. in problem discovery and solution hypothesis testing -
You have developed strong relationships with UX peers, product managers, strategists, and executives
You have conducted both qualitative and quantitative user research using some of the following techniques; ethnography, contextual interviews, lab and remote usability studies, heuristic evaluations, diary studies, and trend research
You proactively identify usability concerns within products, select the best methodology to clarify the issues, conduct the research, and present actionable recommendations to improve designs
You can manage overlapping projects in a fast-paced, creative environment
You are the go-to person for questions about research techniques and principles
You are passionate about developing and maintaining UX standards and guidelines
You have strong and clear communication skills and can work effectively with teams in multiple locations
You have used UX research deliverables to tell compelling stories and get buy in from stakeholders
