Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee our accounting department's daily operations, ensuring that our financial management practices are in accordance with regulatory standards and align with the company's strategic goals. This role is critical in supporting the company's financial planning and decision-making processes through expert leadership and professional handling of financial records and reports.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management and Strategy: Lead the accounting team in managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial operations comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports that provide insights into the company's financial status. Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes and operations for efficiency and risk management. Audit Oversight: Coordinate and lead regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external regulations. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Stakeholder Management: Work closely with other department heads, stakeholders, and external partners, including vendors and consultants, to ensure that the company's financial strategy is implemented effectively. Technology and Systems: Oversee the selection and implementation of accounting software and systems that meet the company's needs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree or CPA is highly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 4 years in a managerial role. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to direct and supervise. Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team of accounting professionals. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
