Responsibilities:Reports to the Head of Banking Operations.
Builds and/or sets up the Reconciliation and Settlement Team processes, including but not limited to the following:ATM operations
Debit card and credit card chargeback, as well as presentment/representment
Reconciliation
Remittance
Complaints handling and resolution
Settlement
Payment gateway services
Collecting bank arrangement
Vendor management
Other related processes concerning reconciliation and settlements
Oversees the reconciliation and settlements team.
Handles efficient completion of the reconciliation and settlement team’s projects.
Initiates membership with local and international money transfer systems.
Ensures transactions are processed accurately and timely, within the pre-defined turnaround time.
Compliance to: a) local regulatory requirements like the BSP, BIR, and b) Mastercard / Visa / Bancnet rules.
Maintains good working relationships with Mastercard / Visa, Bancnet, merchants / partners, vendors, and regulators for matters related to settlement and compliance.
Participates in User Acceptance Testing and User Verification Testing concerning the implementation of systems which will be used by the team.
Performs and ensures accurate reconciliation of accounts and strict monitoring of outstanding floats or open items, as well as timely resolution.
Identifies and reports risks within the unit, including any exceptions or non-compliance to standard controls in place.
Prepares relief plans to ensure that end-to-end processes of the reconciliation and settlements team are performed even in the absence of the primary job holder.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or any similar degree.
At least 5 years’ experience handling similar functions in a bank, or in the financial services
industry.
Significant knowledge of and experience in banking operations. Specific to reconciliation, and payments / settlement policies and procedures, including Bancnet and Mastercard / Visa rules.
Quality Management certifications (e.g. Six Sigma, or other comparable certifications) would be an advantage.
Knowledge in payment / settlement systems used by banks such as, but not limited to, PhilPaSS, BARTS, Instapay, Pesonet, SWIFT, etc.
Demonstrates strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of directing and motivating teams to deliver high-quality performance.
Ability to develop strong relationships with C-level executives.
Demonstrates strong analytical ability, and takes initiative in continuously refining and improving the team’s processes while abiding with company strategy.
Awareness of cost and risk implications of actions taken.
Responsible, self-motivated, must be capable of and enjoy working independently, driving decisions and having an entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in English.
