Specifically, the role is expected to perform the following functions:Manage regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and other compliance matters in the Philippines including notarization of certain documents (e.g., MOA given to vendors)Support and collaborate with business teams (Tax, Legal, Logistics, Operations, Controllership teams) to develop effective relationships with government agenciesSupport operations and supply chain teams on drafting and negotiating contracts with suppliersSupport the Human Resources Department on labor compliance and other legal mattersLead Maxeon's efforts on any litigations that arise from time to time in the PhilippinesMake sure the organization has a clearly defined program for complying with the Philippine laws, including staying up to date on relevant rules and regulations and evaluating how they may affect the Company's businessLead in the coordination with different government agencies, (PEZA, SEC, Customs,) on the processing of required permits and licenses (VAT Zero Rating Certificate, GIT Certificate, Available Incentives Certificate, Business Permit, Brgy. Clearance, Community Tax Certificate, etc.)Perform and comply with PEZA reportorial requirements (PEZA monthly and annual reports, TIMTA, supplementary schedules)Take action in dealing with non-compliance situations including supporting annual statutory audits (external auditors, PEZA, BIR)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in Laws (strongly preferred)With 6-8 years of related experience with handling matters such as PEZA, LGU, FCPA, labor issues, and other compliance mattersDisplay high knowledge of laws and regulations, including related tax laws and regulationsNotary public (preferred)Equal Employment Opportunity
