Java Web Developer – Senior Assistant

Description:
Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role:
• Develop and deploy applications according to requirements and specifications produced by business analysts.
• Maintain and update in house developed applications.
• Troubleshoot and fix defects in existing in house developed applications.
• Improve performance of existing in house developed applications.
• Suggest new solutions to improve business processes.
• Coordinate with developers of partner organizations for application integration.
Requirements:
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in the following tech:
• Spring Framework (MVC, Security, Dependency Injection)
• Java Server Pages (JSP)
• Database (SQL, JDBC, JPA)
• Web Tech (HTML / CSS / Javascript)
Advantageous:
• Angular / AngularJS
• REST Services consumer and producer.
• Linux and Windows Servers
• Mobile Applications development
Non-Technical Requirements: Additional areas of study in requirements management and / or business analyst education – or a sufficiently long experience in working as a business analyst in the insurance industry.

Must be able to translate business requirements into well written code.

Must deliver working software on the agreed upon timeline
Quality (20%)
Must be able to quickly fix defects during the testing phase and must have minimal defects in production
Optimization (20%)
Code must finish execution and display results in an acceptable amount of time
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and capable of interacting professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts.
