Star Recording, Inc. - or simply, Star Records - was a major diversification move in the evolution of ABS-CBN from a broadcast media to a fully integrated entertainment company. After gaining a solid foothold in film production and distribution (Star Cinema) and merchandising (ABS-CBN Licensing), venturing into the music business was an obvious development.
Incorporated in February 1995, Star Records began commercial operations in September of the same year, having signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Sony Music Entertainment, covering the entire country except Metro Manila.
Within a few months, the company managed to set up what has become the largest provincial sales and distribution network, with branches in Cebu, Iloilo, Davao and Cagayan de Oro, complemented by a team of sales representatives for Northern, Central and Southern Luzon. RESPONSIBILITIES JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Analyst is responsible for assisting the Finance Officer in the overall direction and control of all financial concerns of ABS-CBN Music. Provides detailed analysis and prepares various financial data and reports as needed by the division. Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of internal and external reports required by the Service Units and Corporate Finance. Ensures the reasonableness and accuracy of projected revenue and costs. Revenue Accounting Ensures timely submission of billings to SSC. Ensures that all billings are supported with a fully signed contract. Determine proper recognition of revenue accrual. Assists in the efficient collection of receivables. Cost Accounting Ensures all request for payment are within the approved budget. Ensures the completeness and correctness of supporting documents. Ensures timely submission of request for payments to approvers and SSC for processing. Song Database Maintenance Ensures timely approval of song requests from label heads. Ensures song requests are approved by the Music Core Group and covered with contracts. Monitors song request exceptions and ensures completion and compliance by the label heads. Creates internal order necessary in the activation of songs. Validates song details and activates songs. Policies and Procedures Responsible for the proper implementation of the company's policies. Reports identified gaps and inefficiencies in the existing financial and operational aspects of the division's business activities to the Finance Officer and proposes solutions to address the gaps and issues. Audit and Internal Control Ensures compliance with policies and procedures throughout the organization. Arranges the periodic review of practices, procedures, and systems within the functional area of responsibility and takes necessary actions to ensure compliance with Company policies. Reviews proposals for significant new practices, procedures, and systems to determine whether Company requirements are satisfied and recommends approval or modification. Other Services Assists the Finance Officer in providing expert advice on tax issues affecting the divisions handled. Serves as an advisor to divisions assigned with regards to billing requests, cost estimates, and other financial-related matters. Performs other functions that may be assigned by the Finance Officer or the division being handled from time to time. REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of BS Accountancy or any related course Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial analysis, and other related fields CPA license or an MBA degree is an advantage Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) Preferably with exposure to SAP financial tools Preference will be given to candidates who APPLY ONLINE.
