Senior Data Compliance Counsel reports directly to the Head of Data Compliance APACResponsible for supporting Continental in complying with the requirements of the Data Protection laws in the Philippines and the Continental internal mandatory regulations on Data ProtectionCentral contact person for all inquiries relating to organizational data protection and applicable data protection laws in the Philippines

Responsibilities
• Advises corporate departments and subsidiaries on current data protection issues and supports the implementation of new mandatory regulations• Reviews and documents inquiries regarding data protection issues within company policy and procedure• Reviews data processing operations and advises on relevant legal requirements and agreements on entrusted processing• Supports the identification and assessment of data protection risks, including draft of data protection impact assessment• Supports the prevention, detection, response to, monitoring, and reporting of data protection breaches• Prepares and implements employee and management training• Works closely with Legal, Compliance, IT Security, and Human Relations functions to develop and monitor policies and standards• Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison for regulatory agencies on data protection related matters• Serves as the contact point for data subjects on privacy matters
Requirements
• Admitted to the Philippines bar• Postgraduate degree in law, foreign additional education preferred• 5+ years international working experience in a multinational law firm or corporate counsel in the Philippines• 3+ years experience in data protection and cybersecurity• Basic knowledge of GDPR• Excellent English communication skills, other Asian language is a plus• Knowledge in the area of information technology desirable• Strong communication skills, strategic mindset, proactive, structured, and independent way of working• High level of commitment, confident appearance, and strong team skills• Willingness to travel
