WHAT WOULD THE HIRE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Preparation of Month End Accounts and Management Reporting including:
Month-end analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, posting month-end journals (accruals
and prepayments) and completion of supporting month-end spreadsheets
Ability to perform a Full Function Accounts process including:
Accounts Payable: process invoices, purchase orders, payments and liaising with suppliers
Cash flow management
Payroll – fortnightly/monthly staff
Bank reconciliations
Payroll processing
Accounts Receivable: collection
Assist in administration of Accounts email (predominantly supplier invoices and requests)
Completion of daily operational reconciliations as required e.g. matching stock receipted to
invoiced values and investigating and resolving differences
Payroll processing support as required
Conduct other value-add analysis, investigations and ad-hoc projects and tasks as required
Developing policies, procedures and manuals for the business
Assist senior management and other departments as required
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Sound technical financial accounting and reporting skills with exposure to ensuring compliance
in a regulatory framework (incl GST/VAT style regime)
Strong Excel skills required – must be able to navigate and edit complex workbooks. Must be
able to perform reconciliations in Excel using data sourced from different systems in different
formats.
Problem solving skills must be strong – ability to generate and recommended solutions essential
Task management skills and ability to create and follow processes must be exceptional
(exposure to time or project management software a positive)
Must have very strong attention to detail completing all work in a timely manner and managing
stakeholder expectations well at all times
Proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn new things
Willingness to be involved in value-add activities across the business including board and
general management reporting, financial analysis and stock control
Good written and spoken English
An interest in e-commerce and/or the pet sector would be beneficial
WHAT IS NEEDED TO QUALIFY?
CPA or Part Qualified with 7 years financial and management accounting experience (prefer Public Accounting firm experience)
Experience working for an Australian based company; Ability to demonstrate comprehensive accounting knowledge including Australian payroll
Familiarity with Australian GST & Payroll laws
Hands on full function accounts experience
Problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify issues and suggest
solutions
Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced)
Experience with Xero Accounting Software is a must
Other: ability to edit SQL (beneficial)
Willing to work in BGC
