The Vice President for Construction serves in nearly every aspect of construction management. He plays a crucial role to ensure that resources are aligned, properly utilized and financially cost-effective to support the overall strategic direction of the organization.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: scheduling, logistics, planning/design, assigning staff, securing resources, assessing risk and its management, coordinating with the various departments/affiliates which contribute to the project as a whole to ensure that things are being delivered on time, ensuring that budgets are met, drawings and specifications are adhered to, and informing/updating all the involved parties in the project of its progress and any related issues of concern.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership and management of the organization's construction operations, to ensure the overall performance and achievement of NSJBI's strategic directions. Set long-term strategic direction for the operational functions, anticipate key trends, opportunities and vulnerabilities and position functional support to ensure infrastructure and systems are stable and supports the demands of current programs and future growth. Contribute to overall strategy, leadership, values, culture and decision-making through active membership of the Senior Leadership Team Directs the strategies and tactics to obtain optimum utilization of work force, equipment and systems according to project timetables. Direct construction functions and sequences of work to obtain optimum utilization of workforce and meet revenue projections and budgets.  Strengthen and upgrade employee engagement, talent acquisition and development, as well as leadership development. Provide guidance to Project Managers in order to ensure the successful completion of the different projects. Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.  Should be fully aware of the work performed at the project sites and all activities involved in the projects, inclusive of the various aspects of project operation, as to: scheduling, planning, programming, design, quantity surveying, monitoring, cost control, quality assurance/control, safety, administration, housekeeping, security and logistics. Develop and deliver a project management program encompassing all the details of a project to the Project Manager/s. Prepare a construction schedule and construction budget of the project/s. Ensure that the works in the project/s are undertaken according to the approved plans, drawings and specification and to the high standards of good, sound and safe construction practice. Manage the project management team staff according to the established policies, rules and regulation of the project organization and of the company. Communicate and coordinate project related matters with the technical staff/workers, sub-contractors, contractor, suppliers, consultants, clients, the community and the local government units. Promote and enhance professional working relationship with colleagues, superiors, and with external parties as necessary on matters of mutual concern. Directly involve in managing job cost analysis and QS on all projects to ensure margins and consistent profitability. Manage, monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures. He shall periodically monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to management based on company accounting policies and procedures. Analyze general economic, business and financial conditions that would impact projects and project sites Prepare reports on the project for senior management information, review and assessment. Ensure the achievement of customer satisfaction on projects from pre-award to project turnover. Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time. Should be updated with the latest strategies, tools and terminologies used in project management worldwide so that he may also make adopt them to increase productivity. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Must be a Licensed Civil Engineer Minimum of 15 years' experience managing general construction projects Minimum of 10 years' experience managing construction operations professionals Over 5 years of direct related experience as an Assistant Vice President Your application will include the following questions: What's your expected monthly basic salary?
