User Interface / Web Designer

Description

The role of the UI Web Designer is to be active in the creative aspects of the functional and user interface design for a project. The UI Web Designer will also focus on aesthetics and visual design for a website, creating interesting, simple, smart, and pleasing graphic designs in balance with highly functional easy-to-use navigation, controls, and functions.

The designer will work under the direction of the Senior User Interface and User Experience Designer and the Project Manager. Teamwork and attention to detail are required for this position.

Responsibilities
Research and analyze aspects of UI design
Organizes information by creating visualizations of content, sequencing and relating elements, preparing storyboards, applying principles of human-computer interaction, comprehension, learning, and aesthetics
Develops prototypes by creating look and feel of the concept and structuring information filtering and retrieval
Translate web design graphic mockups into HTML and CSS
Work closely with our developers to implement the designs
Testing prototypes, observing usability and defining specifications
Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays
Help shape the process the team goes through for generating and refining ideas
Monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies
Teamwork, attention to detail, and good communication skills are required
Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
Applicant must be able to accept constructive criticism from clients abroad
Qualifications
Excellent eye for design
Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator
HTML, CSS and Javascript
Knows design concepts and color theory
Must have the desire to be better at what he/she does
Big plus if you have a familiarity with Server-Side Programming (PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)
