As part of the team, you can have the opportunity to learn and use the latest data tools and technologies and explore a range of roles to grow your career. **Find your place in finance on #TeamAmex.****Description**:This position is mainly responsible for supporting the Asia Pacific (APAC) regional tax office based in Hong Kong to ensure that the tax efficiency and tax compliance obligations of American Express operating in the Philippines are well achieved.**Responsibilities**:- Provide effective tax advice to local management on specific transactions or proposals- Review current and any proposed operations regularly evaluate tax efficiency opportunities (e.g. tax holiday) or tax risks identified, and recommend changes/solutions- Supervise and assess impact of any tax law changes in the Philippines in relevance to the organization- Analyze pending local tax legislation to ensure cost/benefits to local American Express entities are accurately assessed- Develop and implement lobbying strategies as appropriate and undertake research of technical tax nature for both planning and compliance purposes- Ensure that critical positions are taken on tax audits- Negotiate with relevant tax authorities on local issues arising out of such audits and those related to broader issues such as transfer pricing- Provide the right information and articulate good arguments related to such tax enquiries and tax audit cases- Support tax accounting, including FIN 48 and other US GAAP reporting requirements.- Conduct effective liaisons with Finance and other staff in acquiring information for tax purposes- Review monthly tax provisions and quarterly deferred tax computations- Review tax returns and computations (including corporate tax and indirect tax)- Assist in transfer pricing review and coordinate transfer pricing report preparation- Provide support in setting up a robust governance and control process for the tax processes- Lead outside tax advisers to obtain an optimal value and quality for the company in terms of tax advice- Provide tax support as needed for other tax jurisdictions/countries**Qualifications**:- Degree in an Accounting discipline- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or Chartered Accountant is highly preferred- Legal qualifications (Whilst well regarded, it is not mandatory)- Over 10 years' experience within a tax division of a Big 4 CPA firm with additional commercial experience- Solid understanding of Philippine taxes including corporate and indirect taxes- An understanding of tax systems in other jurisdictions, including transfer pricing regulations (An advantage)- Outstanding ability to build business relationships and a great teammate- Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure- Ability to embrace diversity and enjoys working with people of different cultures- Demonstrate the highest standard of integrity and ethical behaviour- Good written and verbal communication skill in English**Additional Details**:- Location: BGC Corporate Center 2, 5th Avenue corner 30th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig- Workplace Flexibility: Full time.
