Senior Travel Consultant

Company Description FAR TRAVEL INC,  is a Makati based IATA travel agency specializing in Meetings and Incentives. We currently have an opening for a Travel Consultant to be assigned in our Corporate and MICE Department. here.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to book and issue domestic and international tickets using  SABRE  or other GDS Must be capable of making hotel and ground transportation arrangements (both International and Domestic) as well as travel insurance Ability to make package tours and prepare bids is a plus Must be able to advise the client on travel requirements such as visa and passport validity required and all the important details Communicate with clients and suppliers via telephone and email Keep records of transactions and communications Manage relationships with hotels, airlines, other travel agencies and suppliers Must always follow company procedures and guidelines Must be willing to perform tasks assigned to him/her Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications With at least 5 years  experience in a travel agency in a similar position. (We are currently NOT accepting fresh grads for this post. Only those with relevant experience will be contacted). More importantly, knowledgeable with the use of Sabre or other GDS, having undergone Basic and Advanced training. (MINUMUM 3 years experience IS A MUST. Priority will be those who know Sabre, though knowledge of other GDS is also acceptable). Educational attainment: at least high school. Experience is more important than a college degree, however, a Certificate or a Diploma in Travel Management or other related courses is definitely a plus. Must have excellent customer service skills - Able to communicate with ease in both English and Filipino Computer literate, with knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint Detail oriented and focused, able to work independently Must have a good working knowledge of geography. Flexible in terms of assignments, pro-active and independent. Team player
