Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborates with the sales team to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support
• Confers with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs, and to determine system requirements
• Maintains a close and good working relationship with customers
• Develops sales plans to introduce products in new markets
• Develops, presents, or responds to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions
• Conducts sales calls in accordance with sales objectives
• Arranges for demonstrations or trial installations of products
• Plans and modifies product configurations to meet customer needs
• Prepares and delivers sales presentations to explain products or services to customers and prospective customers
• Recommends products and services to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production
• Researches and identifies potential customers for products or services
• Keeps self-informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments
• Attends company training seminars to become familiar with product lines
• Sells company products which require extensive technical expertise and support for installation and use
• Visits prospective buyers at commercial, industrial, or other establishments to show samples or catalogs, and to inform them about product pricing, availability, and advantages
• Attends trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments
• Documents account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers and suppliers
• Secures and renews orders and arrange delivery
• Prepares sales forecasts and ensures attainability
• Provides information needed for the development of other related products and services.
• Reports to the company the prospective firms' credit ratings
• Coordinates with the different sections to ensure that customer’s orders are delivered in accordance with their purchase order
• Formulates sales strategies to ensure that sales budgets and long-term objectives are met
• Performs other related tasks as assigned
