JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION Quality Assurance Officer DEPARTMENT Quality Assurance REPORTING TO President Vice- President General Manager Quality Assurance Manager Summary Objectives The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible foe ensuring that plant food safety programs are compliant with all relevant Food Safety standards. The QA Officer will follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standard, and Product Quality Standard.
This role, while working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and the rest of the QA Team Members, will be responsible foe leading the plant with quality and food safety improvement initiatives as well as coordinating with the production and operations groups for updating policies and procedures to meet new requirements. This position will report directly to the President and Vice- President, as well as the Chief Operations Manager and General Manager of the company.
Job Responsibilities: (Part 1 of 2) · Lead the development, establishment and enforcement of quality assurance measures and testing standards for products
· Responsible for monitoring and programming Critical Control Points (CCP)
· Ensure that software quality measures comply with regulatory standards, industry standards and accepted best practices
· Create methodologies and processes for the collection and analysis of data for ensuring product quality.
· Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
· Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
· Responsible for the correct recording and filling of all relevant record logs and documentation
· Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing
· Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices
Job Responsibilities: (Part 2 of 2) · Ensures and educates employees on food safety and Safe Quality Food Standards
· Collect product samples for Product Development, lab retains and the laboratory when directed Perform inspection on Product, Equipment and Machinery.
· Review and check plant sanitation
· Responsible for coordinating and facilitating third party, customer, and regulatory external audits
· Responsible to report to HR Manager anything that needs a disciplinary action
· Must be able handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting the deadlines
