Job Description:
Product Development Manager for a startup e-commerce/social commerce marketing company. Job Summary The Product Development Manager is responsible for developing a marketing strategy with a certain product range. He/She is considered as the champion of a product and acts as the voice of the customer to the rest of the product development team and the company. Duties and Responsibilities Analyzes the marketplace and designs a market strategy based on the product range. Drives product marketing and development discussions with various stakeholders. Searches for and capitalizes on new product opportunities by determining the process for creating new items or products, gathering necessary data to build or create new product lines, presenting cost-benefit analysis to management, and seeking approval to proceed with product development. Manages positioning and branding of the product range. Prepares the product strategic and operational marketing plan dovetailing the overall marketing or business plan. Conducts research and manages new product projects from start to end. Develops product launch programs. Prepares operational efficiency reports on the various procedures that have been tried in order to eliminate methods that are unsuccessful. Understands the marketplace and customer needs in order to advise a team of individuals in the area of product development. Liaises and networks with a range of stakeholders including internal operations team, customers, vendor partners, and suppliers. Works closely with the sales and marketing departments to develop the sales and marketing strategy which includes the creation of marketing campaigns and contents to inform targeted audience on the company’s new and existing product lines. Leads, supervises, and motivates members of the product development team. Performs ad hoc analysis and special projects that may be assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management, Business Administration, Advertising, or equivalent Knowledge: At least 3-7 years of solid experience in consumer marketing, product development, product marketing strategies, or related fields with hands-on exposure to online marketing strategies and good understanding of branding and marketing communications. Experience in business development role is an advantage. Technical Competencies: In-depth understanding of a relevant marketplace, ability to analyze and predict market trends, keeps up to date with changes in the market and technology that would affect new product development, and highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Soft Skills: Customer relationship skills, excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate clearly in both written and spoken English, dares to lead and challenge the status quo by driving bold ideas, impeccable organization skills and attention to detail, and good people skills especially in handling stakeholders from various backgrounds Attitude: Ability to learn and adapt in a startup environment, hungry to learn, an amazing team player with a collaborative attitude, enjoys brainstorming, coming up with creative ideas, seeing it come to life, and learning from it, and loves the thrill of being in a fast-paced environment while being able to multitask and meet deadlines. Willing to work in Haig, Mandaluyong City and/or General Trias, Cavite
