Key Objectives:• Work closely with the customer to drive out and identify their high-level business requirements during Process Analysis and Functional Design sessions
• Translate moderate-complex customer business requirements into high quality Functional Designs within agreed timeframes
• Share responsibility in promoting learning and transfer of knowledge within the FSGBU organization
Detailed Description:
• Accurately document and translate moderate-complex customer business requirements into high quality functional designs within agreed timeframes
• Record and publish detailed minutes of the Process Analysis and Functional Design sessions
• Assist the Architect in the delivery of the Functional Design Specification documents
• Create System/Functional Test Plans and user training documentation
• Work closely with Project Teams to ensure that solutions meet business requirements and provide for future flexibility.
• Ensure quality of own, and project team, deliverables through adherence to project standards
• Assist the Architect in the administrative responsibilities prescribed by the ORMB Implementation Methodology
• Liaise with Technical Designers and participate with design walkthroughs; discuss/explain functional requirements and dissect into logical functional sections
• Ensure that Functional Design specifications comply with MDC entrance criteria before proceeding with Technical Design activities
• Develop/review detailed estimates for design and development phases based on functional requirements
• Facilitates the clarification of functional specification issues as they arise during the development process.
• Revise Functional Design specifications as necessary throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform quality and functional reviews during the design and development phases
• Assist in project teams packaging activities and review and sign-off of package deliverables.
• Provide support during system testing, user acceptance testing, Go-Live and warranty periods, and under Managed Service arrangement
• Provide functional and technical design support/mentoring to other designers and/or developers
• Assist and participate in ORMB MDC training initiatives
• Participate in the recruitment of staff by sitting on technical interview panels
• Provide regular status reports to the Project Manager (onsite or offsite)
• Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements:
• University degree in IT, Computer Science or any of its equivalent
• Experience in Oracle Utilities Application framework (OUAF)
• At least seven (7) years of design and development work experience, preferably in a multi-national organization
• Experience in gathering/documenting system requirements and writing functional specifications
• Experience in high level estimation of effort for Design, Development, and Testing of design solutions
• At least five (5) years of experience in writing technical design specifications
• Experience in detail level estimation of effort for Development and Testing of design solutions
• Good understanding of business processes
• Has subject matter knowledge of relevant implementation responsibility
• Good understanding of relational database design and normalization
• Experience in formal design notations (data flow diagrams, etc.)
• Ability to read and understand data models
• Experience in Application Design and Development Methodology
• Experience in Object-oriented Design and Development
• Experience in Java development
• Experience in SQL development
• Knowledge in Customer Management and Billing System a plus
• Project Management experience a plus
• User training experience a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients
• Ability to work in a driven team environment
• Ability to travel
