Job Description
Manage the facility's sanitation program which includes the master sanitation schedule, internal audits, SSOPs, CIP and COP programs, hygienic design, hygienic zoning, and cleaning chemicals
Qualify the effectiveness of cleaning procedures
Assist and implement cleaning validation
Direct the investigation related to cleaning and sanitation
Manage pest control programs - including obtaining certification and/or working with service providers
Manage the pathogen and environmental monitoring program - including monitoring facility cleanliness and sanitation and taking corrective action on deficiencies
Review and provide proactive input on sanitary design issues at the facility for existing and new processes as well as the facility structure
Operate, maintain and facilitate calibration of laboratory equipment
Generate SOPs and work instructions
Conduct and facilitate quality audits
Monitor the plant's compliance to GMP and food safety standards and correct any non-conformity
Order and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies
Coordinate with external laboratories, as necessary
Understand and adhere to Environmental, Occupational and Health and Safety requirements
Conduct/participate in staff training of quality procedures and standards and maintain training records
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualification
B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,or other related field
At least 3 years relevant work experience
In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, methods, and technology
Good knowledge of MS Office and databases
Good communication skills
Microbiology laboratory experience desired
Food safety management system experience a plus
FDA regulations and sanitary design criteria experience a plus
Project management and prior supervisory experience a plus
