Pharmacy Assistant

Pharmacy Assistant Job Purpose:Assists licensed pharmacist in preparing and dispensing drugs to patients and healthcare providers. Verifies that prescriptions are filled correctly and in a timely manner. Interacts with patients in delivering medications and completing other sales transactions. Receives, records, and stores medications coming into the pharmacy. Maintains stock of prescription medications and informs pharmacist of inventory needs.Duties and Responsibilities:Dispenses prescription medication and other medical products to patients under direction of licensed pharmacistCounts pills, labels bottles, prices, and compounds medications to prepare prescriptions for patients as directedPerforms administrative duties, including answering phones, receiving and inputting prescription orders, operating cash registers, and restocking inventoryGathers, organises, and assesses patient informationSupplies patients with information and education on their prescriptionsMonitors prescription-filling process to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and pharmacy policiesLiaises with healthcare providers and patients to obtain correct prescription informationAnswers patients' questions about their medications under the supervision of the pharmacistTakes inventory of drugs on hand and records resultsPlaces orders for additional drugs as directed by the pharmacistMaintains electronic patient informationPrepares billing information for medicationsCompletes patients' sales transactions for purchase of prescription and over-the-counter medications as well as other pharmaceutical productsQualifications:must be a graduate of vocational course or any four (4) year course preferably related to pharmacywith at least one (1) to two(2) year experience in pharmacy or related field is requireddetail orientedknowledgeable in inventory managementwith experience in any POS systemwith good mathematical and computer skillshas a strong customer-service skillsexcellent verbal and written communication skillsknowledgeable in community pharmacy laws and regulationscan multi-task, fast learnerwilling to work during holidays and can do overtimewilling to be assigned at LRT Baclaran station, LRT EDSA station, LRT Balintawak station or LRT Roosevelt stationcan start ASAP
