Payment Specialist

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Complies with FDCPA, state and city laws, and provisions as outlined in the company compliance procedures. Complies with company procedures on daily payments, postdated checks, NSFs, unidentified payments, and cash. Posts all consumer payments accurately and promptly. Completes all required daily reports and processes i.e. Posting, Daily Recon and Manual letter creation. Prepares and validates daily bank deposits. Retains all records as required. Maintain email communications. Review, organize and maintain databases. Utilizes all available bookkeeping screens, reports and functions. Utilize banking platforms to review and deposit payments. Type notes, documents and correspondence. Review and distribute documents and correspondence. Ability to research information with specified business parameters. Work occasional weekend and holiday schedules. Adhere to company attendance, punctuality, meal and rest break requirements. React positively to an ongoing, changing environment. Demonstrate the ability to handle pressure, maintain focus while meeting deadlines and performance goals. Maintain good working relationships. Work safely without presenting a threat to self or others. Perform additional duties as required by management from time to time. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Some college and business classes preferred. 1 year payment posting or bookkeeping experience. People Soft or other accounting software programs experience is a plus. Banking platform experience a plus. SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures. Ability to read and interpret a constant flow of information. Able to maintain priorities and organization. Operate an adding machine/calculator. Able to write in a clear and concise manner. Speak articulately and clearly. Listen effectively. Work with and apply basic mathematical concepts. Respond to internal customer inquiries and statements effectively. Solve problems or issues that may come up. Concentrate and focus for extended periods of time. Cope with high-stress and changing environment. Remain alert at all times. Adhere to policies and procedures. Adhere to work schedule and punctuality requirements.
