Naval Architect

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:2.1Supervises and coordinates engineering projects as directed by P& E Manager.2.2Provides technical guidance and assistance in the planning, design, repair, modification and overhaul in the areas of ship's hull structure, outfitting and preservation.2.3Perform inspection and evaluation services on all hull and outfitting. Conducts inclining experiments and stability calculations. Performs docking calculation.2.4Analyzes integrated ship performance speed maneuvering characteristics and provides recommendation as required. Participates in inspections and sea trials of ships.2.5Conducts engineering studies in hull and outfitting areas including analysis of existing operating problems. Supervises underwater hull inspections of drydocked and waterborne ships.2.6Develops methods and procedures for the operation, repair and maintenance of hull and outfitting areas.2.7Performs other duties as assigned.
