JOB DESCRIPTION: Leading and managing a team of material management Engineers, Material Handling Officers, Logistics Officers. This includes setting goals, providing guidance and training, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Overseeing the planning of materials required for maintenance operations. This includes analyzing inventory levels, monitoring demand forecasts, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. Developing and implementing inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent stockouts. This involves monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing efficient inventory control systems. The manager is responsible in analyzing data related to material management activities, such as productivity, inventory levels, project updates and safety concerns. They are also responsible to prepare and submit on time performance (OTP) reports and set KPI's are met as required by manager/designee. Ensure that all material management activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, safety regulations, and aviation industry standards. Continuously look for ways to improve aviation material management processes, such as by implementing new technology, improving workflows, or reducing waste. Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and evaluating supplier performance. The Manager of Material Management may be responsible for identifying new suppliers. Coordinating the logistics and distribution of materials to various locations or departments within the organization. This may involve working closely with transportation providers, warehouse personnel. Monitoring material-related costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and developing strategies to optimize spending. The Manager of Material Management may be involved in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to materials and inventory. Identifying areas for process improvement within the material management function and implementing best practices. This may include streamlining procurement processes, implementing automated inventory tracking systems, or optimizing material flow and storage. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to material management. Manager of Material Management may also be responsible for identifying and managing risks associated with material supply, quality, or availability. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing material-related data, generating reports, and presenting findings to senior management. This may include tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting data-driven analyses, and providing recommendations for improvement. Ensure that the tasks of all direct reports are accomplished based on the established standard KPI and the duties & responsibilities in line with the task segregation is being followed. Maintain a close liaison with the manager/designee and respective section heads as applicable for assigned activities, especially critical operational/administrative issues. Adhere to the Quality Standards of APPC as stated in the applicable operations manual, to be responsible for the quality of his work and to strive for continuous quality improvement. Performs all safety responsibilities as required by the APPC Safety Management Manual Maintain reporting protocol and ensure critical unresolved issues are addressed immediately to appropriate management/authority. Serves as internal customer interface in relation to technical warehouse issues/concerns. Maintain area for overall cleanliness, FOD free to ensure a healthy and safe working environment. Ensure records data and related airworthiness records are complete, accurate, secured/protected, properly id/labeled and available upon request. Regularly carry out shop's self-audit assessment to calibrate Material management section's processes from the existing safety/quality procedures thus also validating the effectivity of preventive actions in placed. Performs other duties as may be assigned by Director of Operation Support QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in aviation management, engineering or a related field in supply chain management. Must have 5 years of experience in aviation material mangement, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity or 1-2 years managerial capacity Must have completed the mandatory training as stipulated in the APM and the following courses within one (1) year from the time that he/she assumes position. Knowledge and experience in Material Planning. Demonstrated knowledge of aviation materials, parts, tools, and equipment. · Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to aviation material handling.
