Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead the development and implementation of manufacturing technology, equipment and process of Tonal products. Working closely with Engineering, QA, NPI, Test Engineering, and the outsourced partners, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will provide the direction and manage the tactical deployment of the manufacturing technology and process of Tonal products.
What You Will Do
- Develop clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for team members.
- Analyze manufacturing issues and work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to implement industry best practices.
- Develop and monitor departmental budget.
- Work with ME, EE, SW, SQE, NPI, Test Engineering and suppliers to develop, implement, qualify and optimize manufacturing technology, equipment and process.
- Co-own Design For Manufacturing with NPI Team and own the implementation of DFM throughout entire supply chain.
- Drive continuous process improvement with systematic methods – SPC, DOE, 8D, etc.
- Improve efficiency and reduce waste through common processes
- Leverage technology to help scale the operations
- Determine current and future equipment needs to allow for increased production volume and quality enhancements for the efficient production of both current and new products
- Publish manufacturing metrics to the management team and Operations department
- Able to build and manage a lean team to support the needs of the business
- Provide technical support for both NPI and MP builds
- Solve complex problems on PCBAs, subassemblies, and full systems
- Provide technical support for cost reduction activities
- Ensure suppliers and CM's meet quality and productivity targets
- Drive the failure analysis and solution implementation at all suppliers and CM's
Who You Are
- 5+ years of direct management experience of in-house and outsourced consumer electronics and electro-mechanical system manufacturing technology, equipment and process development and implementation
- BS Degree in ME. MSME Degree preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical fabrication, assembly, and test operations
- Working knowledge of PCBA and system manufacturing technology and processes
- Experience in EMS/ODM environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with Asia supply chains.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Result-driven team player and demonstrated success in fast paced, complex business environment.
- Experience with high volume production
- Experience within a hyper-growth startup Working knowledge of Spreadsheet, PLM system
- Must be able to apply statistics in problem solving
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
