FTE:Part time working 22.2 hours per week (0.6 fte) (lecturer practitioner and secondments welcome)
Location:College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join our Occupational Therapy team, teaching on the new BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy (Degree Apprenticeship) programme starting in February 2021 (subject to validation).
Staff who are new to the field of lecturing in Higher Education are supported through the University staff development programme which leads to eligibility for HEA Fellowship status.
Main duties and responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in teaching, assessment and module management on the programme delivered by the Occupational Therapy team and will in the future have the opportunity to contribute to research. Further duties include:
Participating, as required, in development and reviews of programmes including inter-professional developments across the School.
Liaising with and maintaining good relationships with academic, administrative, technical and practice based colleagues.
Contribute to the interview process for the undergraduate Occupational Therapy programme, which may include attendance at some marketing events
The Lecturer will further be expected to contribute to the administration of the School by undertaking additional roles, such as being a module lead and joining teams involved in activities such as admissions, timetabling or programme support.
Skills and experience
We are looking for Occupational Therapists with experience to reflect the breadth of the profession and working across the lifespan You must be an experienced, HPC registered, practising Occupational Therapist with recent practice experience in the UK. It is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills and are able to work effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications required
The successful applicant must hold an Honours degree in Occupational Therapy or related discipline, have a registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and Membership of RCOT.
