Ibm Db2 Systems Programmer

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled IBM DB2 Systems Programmer to lead the effort in designing, building, and configuring applications as the primary point of contact. This role will primarily operate during night shifts, ensuring the smooth functioning of DB2 systems and providing technical assistance to relevant groups.Key Responsibilities:Plan, install, configure, test, and implement DB2 for z/OS.Manage DB2 Service Level upgrades, patches, and QMF for z/OS.Execute REBIND processes to support DB2 Service upgrades.Utilize DB2 utilities for backup and recovery of DB2 Subsystems.Monitor and manage buffer pools to optimize performance.Provide technical assistance and support to relevant groups.Utilize SMP/E software products for installation and maintenance.Maintain z/OS software products using JCL and utility programs.Manage DB2 environment by updating/modifying DSNZPARM structure.Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery procedures and support testing activities.Independently troubleshoot issues and provide resolutions.Must-Have Skills:Proficiency in IBM DB2.Advanced English language skills.Experience with Natural language.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or relevant field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Programmer functions.Good-to-Have Skills:Familiarity with DB2 Admin Tool and DB2 Utilities Suite.Knowledge of SMP/E software products installation and maintenance.Experience with JCL and Utility programs like IEBGENER, IDCAMS.Proficiency in TSO ISPF Panels, IBM SDSF, or equivalent ISV product.Ability to utilize DB2 CLIST/REXX for creating/updating DB2 subsystems.Experience in updating z/OS Parmlib/proclib and RACF definitions.Experience in managing buffer pools.If you are a proactive and experienced DB2 Systems Programmer looking for a challenging opportunity to lead and support critical DB2 environments during night shifts, we encourage you to apply!
