Client Industry: FINANCE Job Description and Qualification: The Decision Science Head will work closely with business and product teams to recommend and develop analytical, data driven solutions and reports to promote business process improvement and efficiency. The Decision Science Head is responsible for enabling the organization to measure progress toward meeting business goals using relevant performance data.
The Decision Science Head will play a critical role for the department. His responsibility will encompass developing reports & visualizations, creating and maintaining KPI/metric dashboards, and providing support for self-service analytics as well as acting as consultant to measure and improve business processes.Curate and apply business data and analytics tools to provide strategic analysis of key business initiatives
Develop and lead simplification projects to improve efficiency and productivity of business users through automation and self-service
Conceptualizing, developing and continuously optimizing analytical solutions for operations and executive management to enable data driven decision making.
Collaborate with business leaders to improve and implement standard processes and practices for reporting.
Work closely with our Data Engineering team, as well as various business units to create and maintain data sources, reports, visualizations, and dashboards
Asking the right questions to translate business needs in order to build and design reporting solutions (metric management, dashboards, enterprise performance management).
Generate requirements and model data sources to enable creation of performance dashboards which support data driven decision making
Perform ad hoc analytics for time sensitive requests as needed
Present key insights and recommendations to business leadership
Continually identify new and innovative ways to leverage data to address team business challenges and opportunities
Lead a team of Data Analysts and serve as a mentor to more junior employeesQualifications:
Bachelor's degree (preferably in a field such as Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or Information Technology)
5+ years of progressive experience in data management, data analysis, and business intelligence
Detail oriented, but with the ability to step back and look at the “big picture” of a project or request
Demonstrated consultative problem-solving approach to issue resolution and creative solutioning.
Experience with data storytelling and presenting data to a non-analytical
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with IT and business stakeholders to drive positive delivery of required functionality.
Experience in data analysis, troubleshooting issues, etc., by writing SQL statements and stored procedures
Programming experience using Python
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau is preferable, but also tools like PowerBI or Qlik)
Consulting experience will be desirable
Good knowledge of data warehouse technical architectures, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools is a plus
