The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate accounting, although experience in secondary verticals such as private equity or hedge funds will also be considered. This role requires a strong understanding of valuation methodologies across diverse asset classes, particularly within a large real estate portfolio.Responsibilities:- Oversee and manage the fund accounting team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure efficient and accurate accounting operations.- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, investor reports, and other financial documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including investment teams and senior management, to provide insights and analysis on fund performance and financial trends.- Manage the valuation process for diverse asset classes within the portfolio, including real estate properties, private equity investments, and hedge fund assets.- Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fund accounting operations.- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators to support the audit and tax compliance processes.- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and accounting standards related to fund accounting and financial reporting.Key Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred.- Excellent English language skills both verbal and written- 5-10+ years of progressive experience in fund accounting, with a focus on reporting and financial analysis.- Extensive experience in real estate accounting is highly preferable; experience in private equity or hedge funds will also be considered.- Strong valuation experience across diverse asset classes, particularly within a large real estate portfolio.- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.- Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starter mentality; ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems; advanced Excel skills are required.- Previous experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote or WFH (Work From Home) environment, with proficiency in remote communication and collaboration tools.- Strong attention to detail in maintaining organized records of maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, repairs, warranties, and certificates of insurance.- Familiarity with maintenance-related systems, software, and tools, including but not limited to scheduling software, inventory management systems, and communication platforms.
