Processing, analyzing and reporting of financial transactions and information. Assist with the preparation of various management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform reconciliation process by reconciling assigned ledger accounts, listing reconciliation items and identifying, investigating and completing reconciliations.
• Perform monthly accounting processes and procedures including, but not limited to, review of reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, reporting, cash application, transaction data input into systems and other review functions
• Ensure accurate & timely accounting for direct and or reinsurance contracts
• Ensure accurate direct and/or reinsurance contract set up within the system
• Communication & issues resolution with internal & external customers
• Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned by management
• Proactively drive process improvements
• Build relationships with management and organizations supported by responsively responding to ad-hoc requests as needed for specialized accounting and reporting projects

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Tertiary education required
• Masters Degree is an advantage
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, correspond in a business professional manner with internal and external partners
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel
• Insurance industry experience is an advantage
• Must be a regular employee and must have been in his/her current role for 1 year
• Must not have any active CAs or under PIP

• Insurance industry experience; journal entry experience
• Knowledge of products and concepts relating to the financial services industry, including financial instruments, financial management, insurance principles and cash and capital principles
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
• Advanced working knowledge of finance technology processes, procedures, solutions and best practices, knowledge of products and concepts relating to the Insurance accounting industry, including financial reporting standards (AIRFR, GAAP, Statutory), financial management, insurance principles and cash and capital principles
• Understand the management of the collections & application of cash within the dub ledger
• Understand the needs and goals of a customer and actively look for ways to meet them
• Strong analytical skills
• Effective time management skills with the ability to manage priorities to meet strict deadlines
• Teamwork – able to collaborate and work flexibly with others
• Strong problem solving skills
• High degree of financial acumen and awareness of financial responsibility
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Must have a strong understanding of accounting processes
