?General Purpose
The role of the EHS Officer is to prevent accidents, injuries and work-related illnesses in the workplace. Also implement the occupational safety health and environment programs in the workplace in accordance with the provisions of the Standard.
Duties and Responsibilities
Enforce company policies and procedures on Environment Health and Safety Regulations and Standards.
Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
Ensure employee safety training, classroom lectures, demos and hands-on instruction.
Observe EHS regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
Ensures the Environment, Health and Safety Plan is prepared and implemented.
May exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required. (STOP WORK AUTHORITY)
Ensures there are safety messages in each Incident Action Plan.
Perform Accident or Incident Investigations.
Evaluate risks and hazards and suggest for corrective action.
Analyze hazards and develop ergonomic risk assessments in the workplace.
Develop policies and plans to reduce employee risk.
Resolve complaints and suggest to management for corrective action.
Review accidents and suggest to prevent similar future incidents.
Execute effective safety, hazard control and industrial hygiene program.
Interpret, apply and explain suitable environment, health and safety laws, codes and guidelines.
Job Requirements:
Graduate of any engineering course
With 40 hours Bureau prescribed training and certified – BOSH
With basic facilities management or construction management background
2 years experience in similar function
Basic facilities management background
Skill Requirements:Should be calm, patient and assertive, with excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills. They should also have strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
