Warehousing, Storage & Distribution (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
The Distribution Manager is responsible in leading and organizing safe and efficient storage, delivery and distribution of goods to the right location that is timely and cost effective. He/she serves in directing the warehousing and distribution operation and leading a distribution management strategy that supports organizational success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Analyzes data to assess team performance, discover logistical problems and devise plans for improvements. Set distribution goals, plan, and manage distribution operations to achieve the targets. Oversee daily routes and improve route plans to ensure timely deliveries. Identify resources, perform workload assignments and provide assistance when required. Develop distribution budgets and manage expenses. Perform cost and contract negotiations with vendors and provide appropriate solutions for bulk distributions. Develop cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity and quality. Developing and implementing warehouse & logistics safety and security programs. Develop business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems, and providing innovative solutions. Communicates & monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets of the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that is aligned to the company objectives. Troubleshoot and resolves escalated operational issues. Review sales reports to identify market trends and areas for improvement in product lines or distribution methods. Analyze market data to determine the best locations for new distribution. Maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive rates on products and services. Manages inventory, shelf-life and ensures FIFO (First In, First Out) for inventory. Ensures that inventory expiry dates are strictly monitored and that no disposal due to expiry, negligence and the like will be done. Manages the supply and logistics department for the whole Visayas including the offshore warehouses to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, economics or any related field
At least 8 years of work experience in Distribution, Warehouse, Logistics, Transportation or Manufacturing operations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
With working knowledge on ERP/MRP (Material Requirement Planning) programs
Ability to solve problems and make decisions as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
A proactive and agile work ethic
Ability to plan ahead and deal with unexpected problems
Has positive attitude for continuous learning
Skilled in data analysis and reporting
Proficient with Microsoft Office and any related software
