Financial Accounting & Reporting Day to day accounting and preparation of quarterly financial reporting for more complex transactions and projects Support overall financial statement preparation by leading a team that executes accurate and timely completion of accounting activities in compliance with internal guidelines and procedures and external regulatory requirements Perform analysis of accounts and highlight discrepancies for correction Ensure the production of reports and oversee the month end close process for the accounting centre including statement of accounts, reconciliations, statements of sourcing, preparation of monthly balance sheet and application of funds Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of reporting package and associated disclosures Conduct investigations and reconciliations of accounts as necessary Perform general accounting activities, applying techniques and standards to solve unusual issues and serve as escalation point for complex accounting transactions Participate to internal control testing and prepare relevant documentation Support management with financial aspects of project funding and risk assessment Team and Workload Management Manage teams with focus on effective operational execution, responsible for the short to mid-term operational and tactical team activities Define tasks to ensure delivery of services to assigned business partners is in accordance with service level agreements Ensure a positive working relationship within the team and with Luxembourg office by measuring customer/ employee satisfaction and developing on them Support Luxembourg AVP/VP in managing human resource planning, selection, development and periodic performance review of your team members Act as single point of contact for Luxembourg AVP/VP and escalate issues and improvement suggestions when necessary Create a learning atmosphere among team members and encourage others to keep updated with industry best practices and updates Other Responsibilities Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial reporting processes Liaise with 3rd party administrators and finance teams across Europe Ad hoc project work DESIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Degree in accounting CFA/CA a plus Leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines, with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels Strategic thinking and process re-engineering experience Proven ability to perform under pressure and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements Ability to summarize issues, develop recommendations and make decisions Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills Ability to stay knowledgeable about, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues Ability to be proactive and take initiative Team player - energetic and enthusiastic Familiarity with financial and accounting reporting systems Strong computer and spreadsheet skills Hedge fund or private equity industry experience SOX and internal controls experience Fluency in English (verbally and written) is a compulsory requirement Fluency in Chinese a plus Experience with direct real estate investments
