Job Description:
xchange is seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounting Manager who wants to put his/her financial skills to work, helping social enterprises achieve scale and sustainability, and is enthusiastic about working in a fast-growing start-up incubator environment.
This position will allow the candidate to apply his/her skills in making a real difference by supporting companies that deliver critical goods and services in sectors such as renewable energy, education, livelihood development infrastructure or health towards achieving our mission of improving the quality of life of marginalized communities in the Philippines.
The position will be based in Manila, Philippines and will report directly to the Finance Director and will be responsible for the following:
Manage and oversee financial operations
You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations of the organization, including management of cash and resources, managing the accounting, auditing and budgeting processes of organizations in xchange’s portfolio, as well as improving their financial controls. You will report regularly to the Finance Director on cash flows, budgets, and financial statements.
Provide strategic financial guidance
You will be a true business partner to the CEO/CFOs of xchange’s portfolio companies assessing their organizational performance against both their annual budget and their long-term strategy.
You will develop tools and systems to provide internal controls, as well as critical financial and operational information to the CEOs/CFOs and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
Team Management
You will work with a direct team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors of Science in Accountancy or Business Management, Experience in external audit and bookkeeping services, Excellent analytics and experience with financial statements and Excel, Knowledgeable in computerized accounting, such as QuickBooks and NetSuite, Knowledgeable of BIR, SEC and other government requirements, Highly resourceful, independent, and self-starting, Suited to work in a fluid startup environment in the Philippines, Interest in social development issues Highly Desired
CPA Degree A minimum of 5 years professional experience (at least 3 years in finance and/or operations) Experience in a senior financial management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies
