JOB DESCRIPTION The Employee shall perform the functions of a COMPANY NURSE. His/her duties and responsibilities shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following:A. Direct Care1. Direct care involves nursing assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating in the prevention of illness or injury, and the treatment and rehabilitation of those with occupational and non-occupational illnesses.2. Provide prompt emergency care including assessment for all occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Refer the employees to a physician as appropriate. Supervise safe transportation for seriously ill/injured employees. Follow-up and appropriate documentation are performed according to COMPANY policy and under the direction of standing orders/ procedures signed annually by the facility physician.3. Provide treatment for occupational injuries and illnesses under the direction of a physician.4. Provide competent nursing care for minor non-occupational illness and injuries in accordance with Medical Standing Orders. Refer to personal physician when subsequent treatment is indicated.5. Administer medication as prescribed by physician directives and within the limits of the law.6. Review and assess employee health screening results. Provide guidance to employees with ongoing health problems and help them work within the framework of their limitations.7. Assist in the design and implementation of wellness programs. Monitor its success and progress throughout its run.8. Institute systematic follow-up of medical absences- occupational/ non occupational9. Organize and maintain an effective, efficient Employee Health Service. 10. Assess all employees returning to work for the ability to perform the job.B. Management /AdministrationThe Management/ Administration component requires knowledge and application of management theory in organizing, equipping, maintaining and evaluating employee health service.2. Participate in the formulation and utilization of administrative procedures.3. Select, order and maintain supplies and equipment with the use of HealthMetrics consistent with the needs and standard of the COMPANY and with consideration of cost control.4. Maintain an effective, accurate medical record system that will identify individual and COMPANY health and safety programs as well as provide essential date in cases of litigation.5. Provide for periodic evaluation of the health service program and make recommendations for improvement of services to the management to the clinic coordinator. 6. Maintain health service log of activities. Knowledgeable in the COMPANY benefits and able to assist patients in the arrangement of consultation or follow-up check-ups to accredited hospitals and clinics. 7. Submit a monthly report of most common health complaints of employees, most dispensed medications and count of each disposition (sent home, ER conduction) to the clinic coordinator.8. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the clinic; ensure accuracy and function of equipment; monitor medications and supplies and to report any missing or defective items immediately to the clinic coordinator upon notice. 9. Accomplish annual DOLE reports needed by the COMPANY in a timely manner.10. Assist in the monitoring of the COMPANY’s health benefit limit tracking, arrange reimbursements of employees for delivery to accounts management team in Flexicare, assist in the issuance of LOAs and remind use of government benefits in cases of confinement of employees. C. Health Risk Management / Health Care Cost Management In health risk management activities, the nurse utilizes principles of health education and counseling and business management in individual and group intervention strategies. These activities contribute to health care cost containment.2. Identify employee health risks through health risk assessments and health screening.3. Track individual health data by using the HealthMetrics which also enables analysis of aggregate data.4. Continue to enhance employee knowledge through general health education programs, communications and environmental awareness.5. Educate new employees about their responsibility in the management of healthy lifestyle habits.6. Align with appropriate business to evaluate health care costs and develop cost containment strategies focusing on health interventions.8. Consult with the clinic coordinator to enhance productivity through healthy lifestyle initiatives.9. Facilitate with the clinic coordinator a business environment that supports a healthy lifestyle.D. Safety and Environmental Risk Assessment1. Safety and Environmental Risk Assessment involves health status assessment and environmental evaluation/ interpretation and follow-up of findings along with disease prevention, control and research functions.2. Have knowledge of the hazardous systems, chemical properties and health hazardous materials in the facility.3. Identify and plan for treatment for acute exposures to hazardous chemicals.4. Identify areas of potential environmental risks and report findings to the clinic coordinator.5. Be involved with the risk management team in emergency and disaster planning and related information sharing.6. Maintain awareness of any current occupational health risk by conducting periodic walk-through surveys with the safety officer of all areas of the office, observing jobs, processes, equipment, work practices and work environmental condition. Ensure that monitoring sheets are updated. 7. Collaborate with the Human Resources team, safety consultant and/ or other key members of the occupational health team in the monitoring and reporting of areas that are noted to be unsafe (e.g. loose lighting, malfunctioning electrical equipment causing sparks from wires etc.)8. Maintain familiarity with specific jobs in the site, including physical requirements and the potential for contributing to injury of employees.E. External Professional Community RelationshipsCounsel and refer employees to appropriate agencies when they present with health problems. Follow-up the referred employees as appropriate.F. Professional Standards1. Must be Registered and holder of current Nurse Licensure Card issued by the Professional Regulation Commission. He/she must possess strong clinical skills, with a background in Occupational Health and/or Emergency Nursing for at least one (1) year preferred.2. Must have completed at least fifty (50) hours of Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training by the Bureau/Region office concerned, the College of Public Health of the University of the Philippines, or by any institution/organization accredited by the former. 2. Maintain confidentiality, releasing information only to other member of the health team and Human Resources at the request of the individual after signed consent is obtained, or when otherwise legal to do so. Recognize that employers are entitled to information about the medical fitness of employees in relation to their work capabilities, but are not entitled to a specific medical diagnosis or details of the employee’s health conditions.3. Should receive regular performance evaluations with defined performance measures, and include input from plant leadership.4. Must be responsible for maintaining a current license to practice nursing in the Philippines by complying with all professional standards and legal requirements. Site nurses must be active members of Occupational Health Nurses Association of the Philippines (OHNAP) and/or other professional nursing organization with the aim to advance their knowledge in occupational health.-must be a REGISTERED NURSE-with active healthcare related certifications is a plus-with experience in a related field is a plus-willing for shifting schedule-willing and able to work independently-with excellent customer service, patient-focused approach
