About the Role:

First Circle is looking to recruit a communications associate to help align all external and internal communications with First Circle's brand. This role will be a key contributor in supporting First Circle's vision of helping high performing businesses to access finance and grow faster through the meritocratic provision of supply chain capital. You will work closely with our Brand Manager, Head of Marketing and other senior executives including the CEO on a regular basis.

Performance Objectives:

Internal Communications

Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, monthly newsletter and regular email bulletins
Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form
Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organisation
Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messagesExternal Communications

Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)
Write clear marketing copy to promote our products/services
Write, proofread and edit blog posts before publication
Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics
Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
Update website content as needed
Drive engagement through community management by administering social media accounts / groups and rolling out content
Skills & Experience

Writing skills: You need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees

Speaking skills: You also need strong speaking skills as you are likely to be called on to give presentations to staff. Internal communications managers need sensitivity to an organisation’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees

Interpersonal skills: You need good interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with communications and People departments. You also need to possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them.

Creative skills: You need the creative ability to devise communication strategies

Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential. Understanding the sector you wish to work in (private, public or voluntary) can be crucial

A BA in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing is an advantage, though other degrees are often acceptable. An MA qualification is also preferable.

We are looking for someone who has prolifically produced high quality content for a PR Agency, publishing house or similar organisation. At least three years professional experience is required.
