DescriptionAssess and provide individual and group counseling/case management and crisis intervention. Provide evaluation; plan development; placement services; assistance in daily living; linkage and consultation to Substance Use disordered clients. Provide referrals to adjunct services in relapse prevention, independent living skills training. And outpatient follow up services upon discharge.
Provide comprehensive substance abuse services to clients while housed in within the jail to determine level of treatment compliance. Provide individual group and case management services, provide community resources including twelve step programs, sober living and permanent housing resources upon discharge.

Assess client's level of psychosocial impairment, substance abuse history, and motivation for change, self-care potential, family and support network availability, independent living needs, financial status, education, employment or training needs, and social/recreational needs. Develop and coordinate service plans and make appropriate referrals post discharge.

Work as part of a multi-cultural, multi-discipline treatment team. Participate in Jail Health Services / SUD staff meetings, team case conferences; and other meetings as assigned. Assist clients in developing or maintaining the daily living skills needed to implement and achieve the goals of the treatment plan. Work towards gaining independent living skills and relapse prevention strategies to successfully integrate into the community.

Provide crisis intervention - intervene to include relapse prevention with the client at the onset of a crisis to provide support and assistance in problem resolution and to coordinate or arrange for the provision of other needed services.

Qualifications
CAADAC/ CAADE certification is required. High School Diploma Required.

Minimum of two years' experience in substance use disorders in a mental health or substance abuse setting preferably with homeless, forensic, dual diagnosed individuals. Experience in individual and group counseling. Two years alcohol & drug treatment experience preferred.

Must act in accordance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 and related state law confidentiality requirements. Must successfully complete the Center's HIPAA training, pass the HIPAA test, and receive the Certification of Compliance.

Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Interacting with other employees at work is an essential function of the job.

Arriving at work on time and not leaving early is an essential function of the job.

Must have a good driving record and must be insurable by Center's insurance company.

Must successfully pass the Los Angeles Sherriff's Department background application and receive clearance to participate in in custody services at Pitchess Detention Center.
