Enable capability building with school leaders, business managers and staff to empower schools to more effectively manage their finance, human resources, facilities, procurement, information technology and other operations and implement audit recommendations. Provide differentiated capability development, including coaching, leveraging expertise across the system to lift outcomes for schools and provide targeted support including coaching to improve school performance in areas of finance, procurement, human resources, and any other areas identified by internal audit. This is a temporary opportunity and available in the following regions: Darling Downs South West (Roma), North Queensland (Mt Isa), and Central Queensland (Emerald) . This process may be used to fill any subsequent vacancies. Travel within the region will be a requirement of the role. The Business Manager Coach reports to the Director Capability in each relevant regional location.
Responsibilities include:
Provide specialist advice that contributes to an efficient and effective interface between schools and systemic procedures and systems and proactively identify and implement business support structures and systems improvements. Lead and provide professional direction, guidance, mentoring and assistance across the department, including the development of workplace learning programs and communication strategies, ensuring the ongoing development of staff, and the provision of a high-quality integrated client service within a framework of continual improvement. Coordinate business operations, particularly with respect to operational and strategic planning and review, and resource management. Provide project management expertise to ensure the effective development and delivery of coaching services and outcomes within required timelines. Lead and provide professional direction, guidance, mentoring and assistance across the department, including the development of workplace learning programs and communication strategies, ensuring the ongoing development of staff, and the provision of a high-quality integrated client service within a framework of continual improvement. Prepare regular reports and analysis to allow informed decision making around submissions, reports and briefing material for the senior management team and other senior officers of the Division on significant issues. Undertake substantial research, analysis and review of complex issues and provide authoritative and professional advice to ensure that matters impacting schools are appropriately identified and solutions developed and implemented. Manage the development, documentation and implementation of administrative policies, practices and technologies that represent best practice and continuous improvement to ensure compliance with relevant Acts and Regulations and departmental policies. You would possess expertise in the following key areas:
School business processes and operations Financial and human resource management Facilities management and infrastructure planning Procurement Education IT systems Governance and risk management Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
