Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for 2 nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Teacher Leadership faculty positions in the Department of Educational Leadership that begins August 2020.
The Assistant Professor of Teacher Leadership at Kennesaw State University is expected to demonstrate quality teaching, engage in scholarly research/creative activity, and broadly serve the department, college, and/or university. This role may include, but is not limited to, program development and revision, coordination, assessment, and recruitment/promotion. The candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate level (i.e., Masters’ and/or Doctorate), collaborate with P-12 stakeholders, supervise dissertations, and maintain an active research agenda (with expectations commensurate with rank).
Applicants are also expected to deliver courses in a variety of methods. The candidate will be expected to prepare individuals to supervise instructional and support personnel at the school building, facility or staff level. Includes instruction in the principles of staffing and organization, the supervision of learning activities, personnel relations, administrative duties related to departmental or unit management, and specific applications to various educational settings and curricula. This is a nine-month tenure-track position.
Ideal Qualifications:
Administrative experience in P-12 education
Doctorate in teaching fields will be considered along with leadership/administrative experience
Commitment to and evidence of working in an environment that fosters diversity
Commitment to and evidence of working in an environment that fosters collaboration
Evidence of the ability to conduct scholarly activity at a level commensurate with her/his appointment
Possession of a state certification in teacher leadership or ability to have state licensure in teacher leadership
A record of teaching graduate courses in Teacher Leadership programs, including online teaching
Experience or potential to successfully work in doctoral programs and serve on/chair dissertation committees
Experience with university/P-12 school partnerships
Experience in program development, assessment, or recruitment/promotion
Interest in marginalized school populations
Strong preparation and experience in research methodology

Required Education:
Doctorate in Teacher Leadership or a closely related field such as Educational, Instructional, and Curriculum Supervision from an accredited university or the foreign equivalent. A doctorate in other teaching fields may be considered along with teacher leadership/administrative experience in P-12 schools.
Evidence of the ability to conduct scholarly activity at a level commensurate with her/his appointment.
