Position Summary:
The Department of School of Teacher Education seeks a highly qualified Online Assistant Professor
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching online course work in the Masters of Science degree in Reading or the Specialist in Reading Degree
Teaching load is 5 classes a semester. Responsible for planning and delivering on-line instruction via Blackboard in accordance with Departmental and University policies and practice
Responsible for following Arkansas State On-line guide lines for course development and teaching including all policies established for online programs
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
The successful candidate will have expertise in early literacy and be knowledgeable about The Science of Reading
General Days/Hours:
This is strictly an online teaching position and does not require a presence on campus. The faculty member will be required to participate in required meeting via Zoom or other conference platforms. In addition, regular attention to teaching duties as outlined by the university would be expected
At some points in time a presence on campus may be required usually two (2) – three (3) times a year
The work day is somewhat non-traditional and may require monitoring courses and e-mail nights and evenings

Experience with Blackboard or other like platforms is beneficial
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned terminal degree, in Reading is required
Documented teaching experience in early literacy programs is required
Knowledge of the Science of Reading is required
Experience with dyslexia programs is desired
