The Department of Education [English Language Arts (ELA) – Secondary], invites applications for a one-year term appointment in Secondary English/English Language Arts Education beginning Fall 2020. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD) possible. Preference will be given to candidates with K-12 teaching experience. The teaching schedule of five courses over two semesters will include sections of the introductory education course, a secondary ELA methods course, a course in critical literacy studies and/or a course in young adult literature, possible supervision of student teachers, and another course in the curriculum appropriate to the candidate’s interest and expertise. Candidates are encouraged to identify existing departmental courses they would be interested in teaching and/or describe an intermediate level course they would be excited to teach that would appeal to students both in and outside of the education licensure program.
