Collaborating closely with a select group of small business owners and/or their bookkeepers, offering supportive and advisory assistance. Compiling income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies. Conducting bank reconciliations as needed. Handling the preparation and processing of superannuation commitments. Managing the processing of supplier invoices, including the allocation of transactions, and handling receipts and payments within various accounting systems. Overseeing and administering small payroll processes, ie pay run setup, new employee setup, pay runs and year end processing. Preparing and reviewing Business Activity Statements (BAS) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Preparing and reviewing Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) monthly and quarterly. Reconciling all balance sheet accounts and preparing comprehensive financial reports, primarily for clients during their yearend processes. This entails generating clear workpapers and critically assessing financial statements. We are a team of the practice partner and other staff to ensure seamless operations. Working closely with junior accountant. The Requirements: 2 - 3 years of experience as an Accountant, Bookkeeper or similar role. Ability to multitask and work autonomously. Can deal with complexity and has strong analytical skills. Degree in Accounting or equivalent. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in Australian tax preparation BAS or Income Tax Returns. Keen to details, confidentiality, and thoroughness towards the work. Must have a strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices. Proficient in Xero, MYOB, and/or other accounting software.
