Release Developer 1-1900129I Preferred Qualifications Position Description: Communications SaaS DevOps Engineer will provide skills that allow development, analysis and maintenance of tools that support and automate processes for the software product release.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The role's primary focus is to develop, maintain, and document procedures, and build automated tools, to minimize manual processes, and increase productivity related to Release Management responsibilities.
Facilitate resolution of issues during the release build processes, code deployment, and environment creation and maintenance, working with other CGBU teams. Escalate issues for resolution as necessary.
Monitor and manage Hardware resources and take appropriate corrective action.
Coordinate with Oracle engineering services to resolve system-level Hardware environment issues.
Maintain regular focus on continuous process improvement and take actions accordingly.
Other duties include researching, proofing, and authoring technical documentation that are beneficial to their peers, the team management and the company as a whole in the area of standards and practices.
Optionally, develop new automated tools in support of the primary mission of the CGBU Development Teams.
Interact frequently with management and development colleagues on technical and functional topics related to operational and support aspects of the supported products and services.
Quickly master technical and functional areas to perform the duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Must possess a University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or similar discipline with good academic records
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge in programming using Java, Javascript, Perl, and SQL.
Basic knowledge on Source Code Management such as Git, SVN is a plus.
Basic knowledge in different operating systems such as Linux, Solaris is a plus.

Develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.As a member of the software engineering division, you will write installation scripts and programs for installation of products. Work with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and then initiate the build and packaging process. Compile and assemble software from source code. Ensure tools are stored in source control. Support developers for software package registry and delivery. Work with others to complete analysis, evaluations and design alternatives and to implement process improvements. Work with development engineers to correct build errors.Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. Gaining competence in own area and acquiring a higher level understanding of role, processes and procedures. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 0-2 years of previous software engineering or related experience needed.
