We’re looking for aNetworkLayer I Provisionerwho will be responsible for the provisioning and mapping activity from the DS0 level up to SONET networks.We’re looking for top-notch people with coachable attitudes so this isn’t for everyone.
As a Network Layer I Provisioner you will:
Provide technical consultation to field forces in connection with special services, switched services and hi-capacity services.
Use a computer terminal to obtain records information, design circuits, distribute circuit orders, isolate troubles and maintain maintenance records.
Utilize evolving technology including fiber, digital loop carrier, broadband and SONET systems to accomplish work assignments.
Using specialized remote test systems, information systems, manufacturer specification.
Conferring and coordinating with other departments, and providing technical assistance to customers, and other employees
What are the basic requirements:
Knowledge of special service equipment and network connections
Thorough understanding of DS3 Multiplexing, SONET, WDM and ROADM theory
Knowledge of Fiber Systems, DACS, and MUXs
Understanding basic digital communication applications
Knowledge of electronic and digital theory/principle
Knowledge of Low Bandwidth and High Bandwidth circuits
Knowledge of one or more user-friendly, menu-driven, and non menu-driven software programs applicable to the job.
Preferred skills:
Transport specialist must have working experience in many of the following transport technologies:
