Java Application Developer - Systems Integration I. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Citco Fund Services IT (CFS IT) is currently looking for a Java Developer to contribute to our mission-critical Systems Integration project team. The individual in this position will participate in a stream of work including platform enhancements and client-driven data integration functionalities, along with providing day to day support to these systems. Responsibilities will include new functionality development, systems support for related systems, and ownership of system releases and upgrade support as required. The position may require some international travel to other Citco locations.
II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS:
This position reports to the CFS IT Technical Lead. CFS IT is a global team of IT professionals that are responsible for the development and support of IT applications that support the Fund Services division of Citco. The developer will interact additionally with business analysts, service desk staff and other technical staff.
III. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Development in multiple Java modules and architectures, according to development best practices and current development technologies
- Delivery of functionalities in core proprietary data processing platforms, and in client-driven data integrations and data delivery solutions
- Participation in take-on of system knowledge and business functionality
- Contribution to automated build process
- Systems documentation and knowledgebase management for support efficiencies
- Some AWS DevOps knowledge (Cloud formation, Code Pipeline, Code Commit)
IV. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- 2+ years experience with Java SE (at least version 6 or higher) in a professional environment
- 2+ years experience with a relational database (Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server) and good knowledge of SQL
- Experience with Java JDBC, Hibernate and/or JPA
- Knowledge of AWS DevOps methodologies.
- Java application containers such as JBoss, Tomcat, etc.
- Comfortable using a source control system, such as Subversion, Git, CVS, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or similar discipline, or the equivalent education and experience.
- Must have strong communication skills and must be able present diagnostic, troubleshooting steps and conclusions to a varied audience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment
Additional Beneficial Attributes/Skills:
- AWS DevOps (Cloud formation, Code pipeline, CodeCommit)
- Messaging, SOAP, or REST services experience
- Maven
- Java unit test frameworks and tools, such as JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, etc
- Multi-threaded application development
- ETL development experience, e.g. SSIS, ODI
- .NET or Ruby development experience
- Financial systems industry domain experience
