The Teaching, Learning and Leadership Department at South Dakota State University is offering an exciting career opportunity as an Instructor. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional who is committed to core issues in Early Childhood Education starting in August of 2020. This is a 9-month, full-time, benefit eligible position. This position is supervised by the Teaching, Learning and Leadership Department Head in the College of Education and Human Sciences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach preschool classes in the nationally-accredited Fishback Early Learning Center.
Teach high quality undergraduate classes in various formats (i.e. classroom/online/hybrid).
Engage in institutional and professional service in departmental, college, and university committees; and provide service activity to the community.
Provide preschool administrative responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or evidence that the master’s degree will be completed by start date.
Demonstrated teaching skills in preschool/elementary area.
One year of experience in pre-school administration.
Effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively.
Commitment to equality and diversity.
Experience in a US K–12 school system.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience teaching in a university setting.
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with diverse groups.
