Job Description
Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
The Asian Development Bank’s (ADB’s) Regional Technical Assistance (TA) As the TA will support the strengthening of regional multisectoral coordination mechanisms to strengthen DMCs’ capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to animal and human disease outbreaks under One Health approach, the project coordinator will closely work with experts, consultants, partner organizations, and DMCs to ensure that the deliverables under can be delivered smoothly. The project coordinator is expected to have a master’s degree in public health, medicine, economic, political science or related field and at least six years of experience in multi-sectoral and inter-agency coordination and a minimum of four years of experience of working with government or international organization in Asia and the Pacific.
Scope of Work
As the TA will support the strengthening of regional multisectoral coordination mechanisms to strengthen DMCs’ capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to animal and human disease outbreaks under One Health approach, the project coordinator will closely work with experts, consultants, partner organizations, and DMCs to ensure that the deliverables under can be delivered smoothly.
Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output
The project coordinator will undertake the following tasks under the supervision of the designated ADB staff: (i) Support the development of partnership strategy plan for ADB to work with experts, partner organizations and DMCs on joint response to COVID-19 outbreak; (ii) Networking with experts, partner organizations and DMCs on activities under regional multisectoral coordination mechanisms; (iii) Support the coordination and planning of trainings and workshops that would strengthen DMCs’ capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to COVID-19 and potential outbreaks of other communicable diseases; (iv) Support the coordination and planning of meetings that would strengthen the multi-sectoral and cross-departmental collaboration in ADB and between ADB, experts, partner organizations and DMCs; and (v) Other related work as requested by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
The project coordinator is expected to have a master’s degree in public health, medicine, economic, political science or related field and at least six years of experience in multi-sectoral and inter- agency coordination and a minimum of four years of experience of working with government or international organization in Asia and the Pacific.
Minimum General Experience 7 Years
Minimum Specific Experience (relevant to assignment) 4 Years
